Design. Build. Maintain.

Design, build and maintain — under one roof.

Most properties are handed between a designer, an installer and a mowing crew, and the quality falls through the gaps. Valley Gardens controls delivery time and work quality by providing nearly every service in-house — concept through ongoing care.

Founded in Charleston in 1978, we are a full-service landscape maintenance, landscape architecture, design and installation company. Our work is concentrated on commercial properties and high-end residences — the kind of sites where appearance is part of the asset, and where a missed week shows.

That focus is why we keep a licensed Professional Landscape Architect on staff, field a workforce of 40+ professionals, and answer the phone in Charleston rather than a call center three states away.

Six service lines, one crew list.

Nearly everything below is delivered by Valley Gardens employees and equipment, rather than subcontracted out and marked up.

How we work

No surprises, in either direction.

Walk the property

We come out, look at what is actually there, and listen to what is not working. No estimates written from satellite images.

Scope and price it

A written proposal with the work, the frequency and the cost laid out plainly — and drawn plans where design is involved.

Do the work

Our own crews, our own equipment, on the schedule we committed to, with a contact for each commercial client.

Stay ahead of it

Seasonal adjustments, dormant-season planning and, for commercial sites, snow service when you need it. We flag problems early.

Selected work

Properties across the Kanawha and Greenbrier valleys.

Service area

Statewide to build. Routed to maintain.

Installation and design work we take on across West Virginia. Recurring maintenance and snow is different — it only works when a crew is already nearby, so those contracts run on routes from our two bases.

Design, installation & construction — all of West Virginia

Project work travels. We will design and build anywhere in the state, and regularly do.
