Master plans & landscape design
A considered plan for the whole property, phased so you can build it over several seasons without the result looking assembled.
Private estates & residences
Architect-led design and installation anywhere in West Virginia, and quiet, consistent maintenance for high-end residences across our routed service area.
Design first
Anyone can put shrubs in a bed. A landscape that still looks right in ten years is a design problem — sightlines, grade, drainage, mature size, and how the house meets the ground.
Our residential work begins with Jason Testman — a licensed Professional Landscape Architect, LEED AP BD+C, and Chairman of the West Virginia State Board of Landscape Architects. Over twenty years in practice, his residential work has ranged from private estates to resort and second homes across West Virginia. You get drawn plans, a real plant palette, and a cost you can look at before anything is committed.
Then our own crews build it. The same company that drew the plan installs the stone, sets the trees, runs the irrigation and lighting, and comes back to maintain it — which is the only way a design actually survives contact with a real property.
Residential capabilities
A considered plan for the whole property, phased so you can build it over several seasons without the result looking assembled.
Trees, shrubs, perennials and specimen material selected for the site and planted so it establishes — with landscape lighting installed alongside, so the property looks as considered at night as it does by day.
Terraces, walkways, steps, seat walls and retaining structures that solve the grade problem instead of hiding it.
Sod and hydroseeding, prepared properly underneath, with a fertilization and aeration program to keep it dense.
Systems designed around the actual planting plan, then started up, winterized and repaired by the people who installed them.
Weekly maintenance, seasonal color, pruning, clean-ups and mulch — on a schedule, without you having to chase it.
How a project runs
We walk the property with you and talk about how you actually use it — where you sit, what you look at, what you would rather not see.
Drawn plans from our landscape architect, with a plant palette, materials and a costed scope. Revised until it is right before anything is ordered.
Our crews, on an agreed schedule, with the site kept clean. Phased where a project is large enough to warrant it.
A maintenance program built for what we planted, so the landscape matures the way the plan intended.
Selected residential work
We do not publish client names or addresses. If you would like to see work comparable to your property, ask and we will bring examples to the consultation.
Second homes & seasonal residences
Greenbrier Valley in particular is full of houses that are lived in part of the year and need to look lived-in all of it.
Our White Sulphur Springs base exists for exactly this, and the Greenbrier Valley’s resort communities are on our doorstep — an area our landscape architect has designed in for years. Grounds kept to standard whether you are in residence or not, systems winterized on time rather than after the first hard freeze, and a call before you come if something needs your attention.
Common questions
Anything not covered here, ask directly — you will speak to someone who works on these properties.
No. Plenty of residential clients start with maintenance on a landscape someone else installed, and only later ask us to redesign a part of it. The two are quoted separately and neither requires the other.
Design is quoted on the scope — a single problem area is a different exercise from a master plan for several acres. We will tell you what the design work costs before we start it, and what the installation is likely to run before you commit to building it.
Often it should be. A master plan lets you build over two or three seasons in a sensible order — grading and hardscape before planting, structure before detail — so the property never looks half-finished and the budget spreads.
Yes, and it is better when we are brought in early. Grade, drainage and access decisions made during construction determine what is possible in the landscape afterwards — and are expensive to undo once the house is finished.
Our residential work is concentrated on high-end properties, which is where our crews and our design capability earn their keep. The honest answer is that it depends on the property and where it sits relative to our routes — call and we will tell you plainly.
Design and installation: anywhere in West Virginia. Maintenance runs on routes from our two bases — Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Wayne, Mason, Jackson, Lincoln, Boone and Greenbrier counties, including Lewisburg, Ronceverte, White Sulphur Springs and nearby areas.
